POP BAM ZING!

Beyonce rocked my new S09 "POP" stilettos on SNL last week.  I have to admit that I am obsessed right now with her "Single Ladies" video.  I also love watching all the You Tube copycat remakes - they are hilarious.  But no one can shake it like Sasha Fierce, and I love that she's shaking it in my shoes:)

Shoe Making 101

Just got back from Italy where I was working on my new Fall 2009 Collection and also on the production of my new Spring 2009 shoes.  As you can see in the pics above, the shoes are all made by hand in my artisan factory with tender care and lots of love.  And please note that I only have really HOT Italian guys working on my shoes as you can see!  The Hot Pink "Sushi" pictured is one of my new favorite shoes and will be in stores at the beginning of January.  Looking forward to a bright and happy Spring '09 with lots of optimism:)

My Love Affair with Shoes...

Now I'm loving the Multi Fluo colored "Graffiti" Spring 2009 Pump that Solange Knowles wore to perform in at the World Music Awards last week.  I love how the shoe isn't matchy matchy with her outfit.  It's like Bam!  here's the shoe I like and I'm just gonna wear it with this outfit.  I designed this shoe to be a show stopper that stands by itself.  It's a shoe that makes me smile and makes me happy.  What do you think?

I'm loving my new S09 "Link" in Black/Hot Pink that Alicia performed in the other night in Germany.  What do you think?  Is she fierce or what?

New York City Marathon - I finished!

I ran the New York City Marathon on Sunday and it was an amazing day!  I used to run marathons but haven't run one in 15 years.  I was a bit worried about falling apart half way into the race, but I was pleasantly surprised to feel really strong.  What's crazy is the next day, I felt fine and not even a blister.  I guess it must be all of the training I get walking around town in my sky high heels!   This year the race had 39,000 runners from 100 countries and all 50 states. The crowds cheering along the 26.2 mile route were unbelievable.  Here are my finishing stats:  4:12 minutes; overall out of 39,000 runners, I finished # 17,200; out of the 13,002 women, I was # 3,935 and in my age group of men and women 5,377, I was #433.  However, my favorite runner's t-shirt sums it up - it said, "Don't congratulate me if I finish, congratulate me for starting"
