GIRL POWER in New Britain, Connecticut

I went to the New Britain Museum of American Art last week as they have an Exhibit of my shoes and there was the opening reception. I went up early in the day in order to give a talk about GIRL POWER to about 75 girls from the local junior high schools, girls club, YWCA and a women's shelter nearby. I gave them my Powerpoint presentation, which is really all about empowering women, feeling self confident, taking risks, participating in life, trying something new and of course - wearing fabulous shoes! Meeting and talking with these girls is what puts a smile on my face. xoxo

Thank you for being courageous enough to follow your passion. Seeing your exhibition helped me view my dreams as reality. After all, if you made it coming from New Britain, I can also make it living in East Hartford. They may be a place for me in the fasion industry, after all... Once I find out what it is that I really must do...Thank you, Ruthie!

Ruthie, I saw your exhibit the other afternoon--I love it! I was upset when I couldn't go to the official opening but glad I got to see it nonetheless. Keep it up, your shoes are hot!

I think that talking with those girls was a really wonderful thing. Having a woman who has made and achieved so much in front of them telling them they can make it to will stick with them for a lifetime.
Really great heels!
